This part is sometimes translated as “strength.” It means using all your energy, effort, and resources to love God. It includes your time, talents, money, and physical abilities. Loving God with your might means putting Him first in everything you do.
A Complete Love
The meaning of this verse is clear: we are to love God with everything we have—our thoughts, our desires, our choices, our lives, and our actions. This is not a light or casual love. It is a full, deep, and all-encompassing love.
Jesus Repeats This Command
In the New Testament, Jesus was asked which commandment is the greatest. He replied:“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” — Matthew 22:37, KJV

1. Love Is the Foundation of Obedience

2. Teach Love for God to Your Children
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 says:“And these words… thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…”
Parents are called to teach their children to love God. This teaching should not be limited to church. It should be part of daily life—at home, on the road, in the morning, and at night.
3. Loving God in Your Daily Routine
To love God with all your heart, soul, and might means to include Him in every part of your day. Pray when you wake up. Thank Him for your meals. Speak kindly to others. Work hard as if working for the Lord. End your day in prayer.

There are many things that can compete for our love: money, success, comfort, or even family. But God must come first. He alone is worthy of our full devotion. We are called to love Him more than anything or anyone else.
5. Love God in Hard Times
It’s easy to love God when things are going well. But true love continues in trials. Loving God with all your soul means trusting Him even when life is hard. It means saying, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” (Job 13:15, KJV).
6. Love God by Serving Others
Jesus said the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39). One way we show our love for God is by loving others. Helping those in need, forgiving, and showing kindness are ways to love God.
7. Loving God Requires Sacrifice
Loving God with all your might means giving up things that stand in the way. It might mean giving up certain habits, relationships, or goals. Loving God fully means making Him the center of your life, even if it costs something.
