Viral AI Videos Bring Bible Figures to Life as Influencers

by Ella

As AI video technology continues to make rapid strides, a new viral trend has taken shape online: resurrecting Bible figures as if they were 21st-century influencers.

Drawing inspiration from Scripture, creators are producing imaginative videos with titles like “If Bible Characters Had iPhones”, depicting scenes such as Noah posing with his ark and animals or Moses parting the Red Sea while live-streaming it. The humorous, surreal content has captured the internet’s imagination, blending ancient narratives with modern media aesthetics.

While this trend has been gaining traction for some time — with outlets like The AI Bible leading the charge — the recent release of Google’s Veo 3 has turbocharged the quality and creativity of these AI-generated clips.

One viral creator, PJ Accetturo, has seen immense success. His latest video — created using a combination of ChatGPT and Veo 3 — pulled in over a million views in a single day. Inspired by a clip featuring Daniel in the lion’s den, Accetturo says he wanted to push the format further.

“The Daniel in the Lion’s Den video was good,” Accetturo wrote on his blog. “But I knew I could improve the format by grabbing attention right away — so I opened with Jesus on the cross holding a selfie camera and then followed with all the top Bible characters.”

According to Accetturo, the script took just a couple of hours to write using AI tools, and the video generation process took a few more hours, with total production costs of around $100 in credits. The resulting video amassed 1.3 million views in a single day.

The popular AI-driven account The AI Bible is credited with pioneering the genre. It has been consistently publishing viral Bible-inspired content, including a recent YouTube hit titled “What if The Bible had a movie trailer”, which has garnered over 1.7 million views since its release three months ago, according to Know Your Meme.

The success of these videos reflects a growing online appetite for content that creatively reimagines well-known religious stories through the lens of contemporary media and technology.

However, not everyone is enthusiastic about the trend. While many viewers see the videos as entertaining and thought-provoking, some Christians have expressed concern about what they view as irreverent or blasphemous portrayals of sacred figures.

Accetturo notes that while the reception has been mostly positive, he’s also received hate mail from critics who object to the videos’ humorous and modernized depictions of biblical events.

Still, the momentum shows no sign of slowing down. As AI tools like Veo and ChatGPT become more sophisticated and accessible, creators are increasingly blending theology, humor, and viral storytelling — bringing ancient texts to digital life and sparking both laughter and debate.
